Forum Ziviler Friedensdienst / Forum Civil Peace Service (forumZFD) is a German civil society or-ganization and a member of the Civil Peace Service (CPS) consortium that is active in the fields of peacebuilding, dealing with the past, conflict transformation and enhancing a culture of peace and nonviolence. It finances its work through public and private grants, donations, and membership fees. The organization is currently working with national and international peace consultants in Germany, as well as in 11 other countries in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia.
ForumZFD’s Western Balkans Programme is seeking a full-time Finance Officer based in the Sarajevo office, Bosnia and Hercegovina,. The programme involves forumZFD offices in the West-ern Balkans region (Kosovo , Serbia, North Macedonia and the Regional Office located in Bel-grade), and the main approach is dealing with the past (DwP), working with local and regional partners through a range of activities focused on youth and educational actors, media and civil society organisations and cultural actors.

Your tasks and responsibilities
The Finance Officer is responsible for performing all bank payments related to BiH  Office and Activity budgets, including salaries, rents and related taxes; booking all incoming and 
outgoing transactions into internal bookkeeping system; collect and check bills and 
supporting financial documentation (according to internal rules) from forumZFD BiH team 
members; handling the Office Cash Box and tracking Petty Cash Flow; performing monthly bank reconciliation, bimonthly fund retrieving requests and quadrimester budget reallocation calcula-tions. 
Besides the BiH Team members, the Finance Officer is in regular communication especially with the Finance Manager (based at the Regional Office) as well as other Finance Officers of the fo-rumZFD western Balkans programme offices (Kosovo, Serbia and North Macedonia).  

Additional tasks of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following: 
•    Support annual planning of the programme in-country budget;
•    Support usage and reporting of in-country funds in accordance with existing forumZFD, donor requirements and local laws;
•    Support controlling of funds in accordance with existing forumZFD and donor requirements;
•    Support retrieving external annual audit report;
•    Support training and advising program staff on issues related to financial procedures and re-quirements;
•    Support reporting to head office (financial report);
•    Support procurement;
•    Report to BiH Country Director.

Your profile
•    Advanced university degree in Economics, Business Administration or other relevant programs   
•    Minimum 5 years of work experience, preferably with CSOs, in financial administration includ-ing bookkeeping and accounting, budget planning and controlling, financial reporting and other relevant tasks; 
•    Familiarized with financial regulations in BiH
•    Qualification as a Cerfitied Accountant is an asset; 
•    Experience with EU and other international and/or multi donor funding;
•    Knowledge and skills in peacebuilding and conflict transformation are an asset; 
•    Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including non-violent com-munication competencies and intercultural sensitivity;
•    Ability to work independently;
•    Excellent written and spoken command of English (official working language of the pro-gramme); 
•    Advanced MS office skills. Experience with accounting softwares is an asset;
•    Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive;
•    Bosnia and Hercegovina citizenship is required for this position.

Our offer
•    The position is based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Hercegovina 
•    A full-time job (40 hours per week);
•    Salary in the range of 1.255 eur to 1.300 euros depending on relevant experience, social ben-efits, including 30 days annual leave;
•    Possibility of further education and development
Start of assignment
Ideally, you are available to start on May 1, 2024 or even sooner if possible.
