From November 7th to 9th, 2024, forumZFD organized a Regional Youth Camp aimed at developing dialogue, understanding and cooperation among young people (aged 17 to 25) from different communities in the Western Balkans.
The two-day camp was designed to create a safe and inclusive learning environment, emphasizing the connection between peacebuilding and gender equality through interactive discussions and personal reflections, and to develop own ideas for local community initiatives.
From art-based workshops fostering emotional expression conceptualizing their own camps bringing together diverse communities, the showcased ideas reflected both creativity and a dedication to transformative action. The Regional Youth Camp empowered young activists with the skills, concepts and motivation needed to implement their ideas in collaboration with local NGOs next year. By doing so, participants carry forward the camp’s mission to spark lasting change within their local communities, extending its impact beyond the event itself.
On December 6th, 2024, forumZFD and the Association of History Teachers in Kosovo organized another Workshop for social sciences teachers in Gjakova, continuing its workshop series by introducing the manual on „Women and Gender - in the last two decades of XX Century in Kosovo”.
The manual was published in 2022 by forumZFD and the Association of History Teachers in Kosovo focusing on women's activism during the 80s and 90s in Kosovo and teaching history from a gender perspective.
During the workshop, more than 20 teachers were trained in how to use and adapt the manual in their lessons. They had the opportunity to dive deeper into gender analysis by learning how to foster an understanding and critical thinking among youth through lessons on “gender and women in history”.
