Over 400 students attend peace forum on Bangsamoro Organic Law

in Cotabato City

In order to engage youth leaders with limited access to mainstream information and to provide a safe space for youth leaders from the region to voice concerns and questions, forumZFD organized a youth peace forum on the recently passed Bangsamoro Organic Law.

At least 400 students and young leaders from Cotabato City, North Cotabato, Marawi, Lanao Del Sur and Maguindanao (Moro, Christians and IPs) attended the peace forum on the Bangsamoro Organic Law organized by forumZFD in cooperation with KUMUNET, Mindanao State University-Maguindanao Campus, and Responsible Young Leaders Organization for Real Progress (RYLO) last 22nd of September 2018.

The youth participation in the Bangsamoro government, the process of the plebiscite and the Bangsamoro Transition Authority was discussed and shared by Attorney Naguib Sinarimbo. Assistant-Secretary Dickson Hermoso of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) also shared the ways forward of the government in the peace process. One of the Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) Commissioner Dr. Susana Anayatin, shared the inclusivity of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).

In the space provided for them, the youth aired their questions and perspectives to the issue of their participation in the future government.
