forumZFD’s project manager Vjollca Islami Hajrullahu together with Flaka Zogu and Suada Qorraj had a very emotional discussions where two panelists talked about, they own history and what is means for them to grow up without a parent.

Both shared their very sensitive and painful past, Flaka was just a baby when she lost her father and Suada haven’t had the chance to meet her father at all.  Flaka also shared that for her, and her family is very important to find the body of her missing father, so at least they would have a place were they father would rest, at the other side Suada talked about three important painful dates: the first date when her father was taken, the other date when they heard that he is killed and the date when they buried him.

Flaka and Suada are two of the thousand children who lost their parents during the last war in Kosovo and unfortunately, they do not have any information on where about of their parents.

27th of April is commemoration day of missing persons and this event contributes to fostering the discussion of missing persons as a way of solidarity and recognition with collective memory.

This event is also a resounding call to the relevant institutions to use all capacities and clarify the fate of 1617 persons still missing from the war, establishing legal mechanisms in function of justice and restoring the dignity of the families waiting.
