Bosnian War Crimes Atlas presentations in Serbia and Croatia

The main aim of the Bosnian War Crime Atlas as an online platform is to empower Bosnian citizens with knowledge about facts of the 1992-1995 war against Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to prevent conflict and manipulation of the recent history, to de-monoplize and democratize the process of dealing with the past and to preserve and honor the memory of all victims regardless of their ethnic, religious, social and national belonging or political affiliation.

Additionally, the goal of this online platform is to preserve individual and collective/national memory of war events based on facts. Furthermore, the Atlas will also serve as a tool to reach out to the members of Bosnian Diaspora whereby educational institution will be able to use the database from Information and documentation center in Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDC BiH). Atlas will be available online beginning of the next year.

After four presentations in Serbia (Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš and Kragujevac) another four presentations were organized in Croatia (Zagreb, Pula, Osijek and Vukovar). This regional presentations were supported by forumZFD with the aim to increase the level of knowledge about the events from the 1992-1995 war and critical consideration of the recent history of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Reducing the negative influence of nationalist, ideological, and political interpretation and manipulation of facts about war events and crimes committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina were as well goals of those presentations. Next presentations will be organized in Prishtina and Podgorica followed by a series of presentations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
